Rough morning, but much better afternoon and evening. Last night and today her heart rate has been sitting high: 170's. That's been typical for the week after chemo, but not this far out. So of course they check for all the things (though fewer things now that her chest port is gone!), but no fever, blood counts look good, and no other concerning symptoms. Tylenol didn't bring it down (suggesting it wasn't necessarily pain-related). They gave her a bolus of Pedialyte which helped for a bit, but today it was back up to the 170's. She did throw up three times today =( and she's peeing a lot, so they're leaning toward dehydration. They gave her a few more Pedialyte boluses and eventually her heart rate came down. As I type this she's sleeping soundly in the 130's. So this morning, with the nausea, vomiting, and likely dehydration, she wasn't the happiest camper. OT attempted to work with her, but she barfed halfway through the session so they cut it short to get her cleaned up. But the nurse said her afternoon therapies went really well! Speech worked with her in her chair again, and it was a productive session, then she remained in her chair for a whole extra hour, nice and content. And then PT worked with her on the floor again! Working on sitting up on the bench =) The nurse just said they noted it went really well, but I don't have details. I'm so sad we missed her 2nd sitting practice. So by mid-afternoon, with two rounds of anti-nausea meds, and two Pedialyte boluses (and after 3 sessions of PT), exhausted Julia was relaxing comfortably in bed. I just got an update from the evening nurse, and she said she was about to go wear Julia out with another hour of chair-play-time, but she's already snoozin'! (I'm sure it won't last, but I love tuckered-out Julia <3) ~~~~ I'm still in the thick of the cold, but Reed's doing MUCH better today. If things go as planned, he will be back down with Julia by tomorrow night <3 This is by far the longest she's gone without seeing her daddy... ever. It will be almost 6 full days. So that will be a very happy reunion. On the plus side... Reed has eaten and slept better than he has in a year. That has to be good for him, even if he doesn't realize it. ~~~~ Since I have no new pictures or videos, I put together some from a happy day 2 years ago. It was October, and I was very pregnant (and grumpy) with Gabriel. I am a big fan of seasonal pictures, and I had no one to help me get Julia's first Halloween. And given the date... these were taken ON Halloween, so I was cutting it close. I called to complain to my dad, and he offered to stop everything he was doing (in the middle of his work day) and come help me get a cute Halloween picture <3 <3 <3 He came to my house and helped get her in her costume, drove us to a pretty place, and wrangled her hat in the wind so I could take a million pictures just to get one good one. And then we brought her back to the office and they took a nap. Talk about a grandpa with his priorities in order =) And I added a short video in the comments from the same day... and then one from her other Halloween costume several weeks earlier when she had JUST learned to waddle. (Including evidence that she's always hated headbands - which is why her bald little head never has anything on it!) . Hopefully daddy - Julia reunion tomorrow <3
