Only an OK day for Julia. No concerns or anything, just kind of miserable. Her mucus is out of control! The chemo aggravates it, and she's also become an expert at scratching off the medicine patches behind her ears. So in additional to chemo nausea, the snot is likely gagging her. So... lots of barfs. She went through 5 shirts and several string changes.
She got some blood today since her hemoglobin is starting to drop (that helps carry oxygen). They also gave her the shot to help stimulate white cell regrowth. Her platelets are currently fine, but they keep a close eye on those because she's a stroke patient (platelets help with clotting... which is good. No one wants a brain bleed.) So, everything as expected with blood counts trending down.
PT stopped in for a whole 10 minutes. Julia wasn't having it today. Who can blame her with the snot waterfall coming out of her nose? Though she did have a happy period in the early afternoon. Reed said he went to the bathroom for a whole 45 seconds, and while in there heard quite a bit of fussing. He came out to find Julia had pulled the iPad off the holder, snotted on her face, put a random napkin on her head, and was contently watching TV. (Pic!)
Goofball.

The fundraiser tonight went really well! The turnout was great - with the line out the door. We talked to a lot of people, and everyone seemed to really enjoy the food. Gabriel was well behaved and had several kids to run around with. Though somehow even with 4 moms watching, he managed to eat ketchup straight out of a cup. Cousin Kinley and friend Nautica did a GREAT job handing out Julia's business cards. They made sure everyone who came in the door was there for Julia... even if they weren't <3 But not to be outdone, Aunt Charlene took Julia's cards straight over to Child-Fil-A's drive-thru! Not sure if she converted any, but I certainly laughed.
Thanks so much to everyone who came, and those who showed up earlier to buy several dozen burgers for their office, and the random person who called from Tennessee <3 I'm not sure when I'll know how much was raised, but I'll share when I find out =)

And please pray for a little girl in Germany named Vanessa. We need her body to hold out until her alternative medicines show up. We just want a shot to try them against her brain stem cancer, but she's in a similar condition to Julia when things were not looking good. Specifically we need her breathing to stabilize. (I have no link to share -- just the prayer request.) Thank you <3
