Julia has had an OK day... I guess? Heart rate 130s, ET low 50s, oxygen saturation high 90s, BP 95/53. But I guess there's not a ton to report since she can't do anything. She definitely can no longer move her good arm, or hand, or fingers. She can barely twitch her toes. She still appears to have full control of over her good eye and can still do her O faces and smiles. She is sleeping a lot, comfortably, as far as we can tell. I asked them to give her Tylenol and Morphine just to be safe, since she seemed unhappy when I was touching her hands. Her left hand is back to balloon hand, and now her right hand is balloon hand as well. Her face is very swollen. So, overall retaining a ton of fluid. They're talking about a diuretic option, and whether that comes with any risks. She's also not reached the cath amount of urine (150ml) over the past 8 hours... so now they're wondering why she's not making much pee. So at this point we're really just fighting a new bodily function fail every day or so. Aunt Charlene is visiting today, and gave Julia a nice mani/pedi... balloon hands and all. We also brought over her semi-deflated birthday balloons and got some chunk-face smiles and laughs by hitting them against things, including her head, which she found super funny. So that was nice. She made a sad face when I took them away, so now they are sitting right behind her iPad. She keeps looking at them, doing her O face, and looking at Aunt Charlene. We also did a FaceTime with Gabriel, and I have a cute clip of when he waddled over to the phone and said "Hi Jew-yo!"; and it's just the side of her face, but you can still see her O face in response even though she's puffy. So... not a bad day, as in, no new emergencies. But she continues to get visibly worse by the day so I can't really say it's a good day. Well, we still got smiles, so yes, maybe a good-enough day.
