Not much to report today. Julia didn't nap yesterday and didn't sleep last night. She didn't seem like she was in pain, but she did seem uncomfortable. Her respiratory rate was a little higher than they'd like. Reed thinks they messed around with the cuff on her trach, and maybe inflated it a bit more (this would keep more of the support from the ventilator in her lungs, rather than escaping into her upper airway - the "leak" around the cuff is what allows her to make noises). Once they did that, she zonked right out. And she's been sleeping pretty much all day. My best guess, from speaking with no one, is that maybe her damaged lung, from the fluid pocket, just wasn't able to keep up with demand while she was tired, so inflating the cuff more allowed the vent to fully support her and then she was able to relax. Her vitals are great. Heart rate 140s, respiratory rate 20s/30s, BP 98/55, ET 30s. She fell into such a deep sleep that they give her a bit more oxygen support. But she hasn't required any pain relief at all today. ~~~~ Picture of Julia this morning before she finally decided to go to bed. And one from Christmas Eve 2017, with Julia napping like a frog on her "nap blanket". With the two babies and my back injury, carrying one or both upstairs to nap in their cribs was definitely not happening. So Julia just learned to fall asleep anywhere. Eventually, she claimed a heavy red plaid blanket as hers. I never had them on a schedule, so I just knew it was nap time when she found the blanket and plopped over. Video in comments: No new Julia video, because she's just sleeping, so I found a great one of Reed and Julia from just after Christmas 2017 <3 <3 She LOVED going upside down. She never was a great talker, but she would say "again" in her cute little way... it was just a dainty little noise with a raising inflection. But she'd request Reed flip her upside down over and over until his arms were tired =)
